The Dear Leader, as he was known, inspected the Combined Food Processing Factory, only weeks before his death on Saturday at the age of 69, North Korean state media agency said.
According to Naenara, the factory warranted the visit after boosting industrial output by 314% since 2004 – a fact the general secretary of the Worker’s Party of Korea (WPK) was apparently pleased to learn.
The North Korean leader inspected the condiment workshop, instant rise workshop and other areas of the facility to learn more about food production at the plant.
“He expressed great expectation and belief that the employees of the factory would implement with credit the intention of the WPK calling for the improvement of the people’s standard of living,” said the agency.
