Cermex appoints new managing director

Cermex has announced that Marc Ville has been appointed as the company’s new managing director.

The France-based firm, which specialises in end-of-line packaging equipment, said Ville replaces Jean-Felix Lesueur, who has be reassigned to work for Cermex’s parent company Sidel.

Ville, who started his new role at the beginning of July, has worked within the Tetra Laval Group since 1999. Prior to joining Cermex, he spent two years as industrial program vice president at Sidel.

He has also been director of the Tetra Pak plant in Dijon, managing director of Sidel Malaysia and vice-president of industrial operations in Beijing.

Ville will report to Philippe Lejeune, Cermex group chairman and EVP in charge of Sidel’s Food Home Personal Care (FHPC) division.

Key development stage

The company said the new managing director’s appointment comes at a key stage in its development - as it seeks to become more efficient and get closer to major emerging markets.

Boosting the production system in a bid to realise a “significant reduction” in order times was highlighted by the firm as a main priority. The introduction of 3D design in 2008 has been followed by the introduction of a modular architecture approach for new product lines, it said.

Cermex also unveiled a strategy to get closer to its customers in vital markets with the announcement.

The company opened a new branch office in Mexico earlier this year and said it plans to open another in Brazil in 2012 to bring it closer to the markets for sales and service.
