The announcement comes barely a week after CSM said it will close another of its manufacturing facilities at La Mirada, California, with the loss of about 90 jobs. The closures follow on from CSM’s $510m acquisition of baked goods maker Best Brands last February to become part of CSM Bakery Products.
“CSM has reviewed the manufacturing base of the combined companies in order to improve utilization, to reduce complexity in the supply chain and to maintain an adequate geographic footprint,” the company said in a statement.
It said that the production at the Oak Creek facility will be moved to four other of the company’s US facilities during 2011, and that this latest closure “concludes a comprehensive review of capabilities at all CSM Bakery Products manufacturing locations.”
