India to hold first national meat and poultry processing forum

India is to hold its first national conference on meat and poultry processing next month.

The three-day forum, called “Meat and Poultry processing Industry in India- Potential and Challenges”, will be a conference-cum-exhibition, an Indian Government statement said.

Industry players from meat and poultry sector, entrepreneurs, as well as workers, state government officials and all other stake holders will be attending the conference from 4-6 November organised by the National Meat and Poultry Processing Board.

There will be some 50 exhibitors from the industry, films on the sector and lectures from experts on topics such as animal slaughter, quality and safety issues and capacity building. Technology, processing, packaging, R&D, cold chain and preservation of products will also be discussed.
