The company’s Cryovac PakFormance integration solutions provide a combination of hardware, software, equipment and services designed for the food packaging and processing industry. “The integration solution allows users to monitor key equipment and process indicators to react immediately to deviations and address potential issues, thereby increasing productivity and performance,” said a company statement.
The technology incorporates automatic in-line weighing, automatic in-line label printing, batch management, tracking through the packaging line and continuous monitoring. According to Sealed Air: “This….gives food processors superior command and oversight of their equipment, providing the ability to control and improve productivity and performance, resulting in a sustainable reduction in operating costs.”
Fault Investigation
Programmable features in the software are said to include powerful performance analysis, fault investigation, remote maintenance and support. and reporting both real time and historical information. The information collected includes products, process variables, equipment and packaging material.
Tim Dennison, Sealed Air’s North American systems director, Automation and Integration said: “Everybody is worried about costs, and optimizing the entire packaging process is one way to make sure every dollar is spent as efficiently as possible.
“The flexibility of PakFormance integration solutions enable configurations to meet every individual’s needs and will allow processors to accurately and effectively measure their performance to ensure process optimization.”
The technology was launched at the Cryovac Automation & Integration Event held earlier this month at the company’s Packforum Americas facility in Atlanta.
Performance-based
Sealed Air makes packaging and performance-based materials and equipment systems for food, industrial, medical, and consumer applications.
The PakFormance equipment can be linked with the company’s other systems and to third party equipment, says Sealed Air.
