The Swedish co-operative said the divestment to a group of 13 growers was completed this week. The company said the processing arm had grown over the last few years and sells mainly to the domestic foodservice and consumer sectors.
The growers have formed the company Solanum Odlarna i Kävlinge AB and have secured financing for further development of the operations. No financial details were available
Lantmannen CEO Reinhold Svensson told FoodProductionDaily.com that more sell-offs could be in the pipeline as he revealed the company had yesterday hived off its IT support service.
He added that the firm was undertaking various divestments in order to concentrate of its core businesses of agriculture, frozen bread and flour production.
