Based in South Wales, Chevler was formed in February following the collapse of Chevler Packaging. Four senior executives at the company bought it out and consolidated all operations onto a single site, building an additional production facility next to the existing one.
Investment programme
Now Chevler has moved on to the next stage of its investment programme, and as part of plans to add to and update its facilities, the company has installed a new specially designed reel-fed machine at the Hengoed production facility.
Chevler said the move would help the company maintain its position at the forefront of high volume production of baking cases.
The new machine will allow Chevler to produce over 250,000 muffin and cupcake cases an hour.
Managing director Stuart Whelan said the machine had taken three years to develop and help the company accommodate the needs of its customers.
He said: “Our customers are hungry for innovative new products and we have learnt that developing bespoke machinery is vital to meet this demand.
“The tulip-style muffin we launched in 2006 has been phenomenally successful and this inspired us to keep developing new products.”
Company specialism
Chevler specialises in providing paper packaging to the baking industry. Its two divisions are Baking Cases and Meat Saver Paper.
The company claims one of its key strengths is that it carries out all printing and converting in-house. “From mill reel to finished product, printed or plain, all manufacturing activities are carried out in-house. We do not rely on stock shipped from abroad, nor do we depend on outside printers and convertors.”
