The new Robag 3's sealing process reduces reject levels resulting in a more efficient output and increased product shelf life, claimed Australia-based Tna. The machine, a stainless steel vertical form, fill and seal (VFFS) bagger, has "shaker" software to bag such produce as convenience salads, a popular item in the consumer convenience market. The machine is designed to ensure the integrity of the seal formed by its rotary jaws, stated Shayne De la Force, Tna's group marketing manager. "Most VFFS flat jaw machines are limited by design to achieve the required pressure for high quality sealing of the packaging film," he staed. "The unique rotary action of the Robag 3 compresses the film, forming a quality bonded seal." The Robag 3 is also engineered to reduce downtime during changeovers so that new bag sizes and shapes can be used. In addition, the 'shaker' software ensures a fast and smooth movement of the produce, the company claimed.
