The person chosen for this online business reporting position would join Decision News Media's food and beverage news team at our headquarters in Montpellier, South of France. In particular we are looking for a recent graduate with a degree or background in mechanical engineering or a food technologist specialising in equipment used by the food and drink industries. He or she would not necessarily have a background in reporting, but any such experience would be a plus. However, you must demonstrate excellent writing skills, a keen desire to enter journalism as a career, and an ability to learn the business of reporting on the food and drink industry. You will be independent and have the ability to develop original story lines, write articles and actively work to improve the company's news sites. You will mainly be working for FoodProductionDaily.com. A lot of FoodProductionDaily.com's news coverage focuses on the processing and packaging of food and drinks. You will be expected to add depth to this coverage of the techniques, materials and machines used in the industry by being able to apply your background in mechanical engineering or food technology. You will receive training by senior and talented journalists, and a great deal of support and encouragement to maximise your abilities and demonstrate initiative. After training, we expect you to be able to work autonomously and demonstrate creativity, analytical skills and a determination to shine, all in a great team atmosphere. If you outperform, you can expect to be given a great deal of responsibility in the running of our independent news services, which each have an audited readership of between 50,000 to 120,000 readers. The company Decision News Media specialises in international business and technology news serving decision-makers in the food, nutrition, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
