Belt conveyer offers 30 second changeover

A new conveyor frame can be completely disassembled, without tools, in 30 seconds, allowing processors to clean their machines and get production underway again faster.

Changeovers are a problem for manufacturers as they delay production and increase the risk of contamination.

Dorner's new AquaPruf 7600 sanitary conveyor platform boasts the highest level of sanitation in the market today and the fastest cleaning times for wash-down conveyors in the industry, the company claims.

The belt is designed to transfer difficult products like jelly beans, apples, marinated chicken and chips at speeds of up to 328 feet (100 meters) per minute.

The 7600 Series can also handle bakery products and snack foods, confectionary, ready-to-eat foods, raw meat, poultry and seafood.

Dorner's belt uses cleats to stabilise products being transported at an incline and decline. The cleats are physically molded into the belt, which offers increased durability with improved sanitation, the company claims.

The belt can have cleat heights of 6mm to 60mm.

A tool-less tip up pulley option allows for the conveyor to be lifted easily for quick access to the inside for cleaning, claims Dorner.

The belt has a continuous welded stainless steel frame with no horizontal surfaces, allowing for optimal cleaning, the manufacturer claims.

The conveyor also has stainless steel bearings filled with lubricant approved for use in the food industry. It is mounted in cast stainless steel housings, to allow easier wash-downs.

The V-guided belt can handle loads of up to 20 pounds (9 kilograms) per square foot and are available in lengths between 36 inches (91 cm) and 40 feet (12 meters) with widths up to two feet.

Dorner is based Wisconsin and manufactures, designs, and distributions conveyors and related equipment.
