The extended warranties apply to all of the company's Iso-Flo vibratory conveyers and Impulse shakers shipped to North and Latin America from October 1, 2006.
The food industry, which uses about 90 per cent of the Iso-Flo and Impulse conveyors currently installed worldwide, are set to benefit from the longest standard warranty in the industry, the company claims.
A two-year warranty is standard on other competitive conveyors, said Sandra McBride, a company spokesperson.
"The motivation was to differentiate the shakers from the competition based on Key's record of and dedication to superior equipment reliability and customer service," she told FoodProductionDaily-usa.com.
During the first year of the new warranty, Key is offering repair and replacement labor on all major components, including parts. For the remaining four years, the warranty covers all major components with repair and replacement labor.
"Extending the standard warranty from two years to five, Key assures customers will experience superior equipment reliability while limiting the total cost of ownership to maximize the long-team return on capital investment," the company said in a press release.
The warranty is valid on condition the machinery is operated within design specifications and maintained according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Impulse shakers are designed for gentle product handling and precise metering within mixing lines for a variety of foods, including fruit, nuts and cereals.
Iso-Flo combines the same features integrated within a vibratory shaker conveyor.
Over 17,000 Iso-Flo conveyers and 3,000 Impulse shakers are currently installed at plants worldwide, said McBride.
Key is a global manufacturer, with manufacturing plants in the US, the Netherlands and Australia.
