Biometric authenticator controls access

A biometric fingerprint authenticator withstands high volume use, heavy cleaning, and cannot be fooled by gummy fingers or finger castings, claims its manufacturer.

Biometric fingerprint readers help food processors and other manufacturers control who has access to plant areas, machines, computers and the network. They allow users access based on a scan of their fingerprints.

Zvetco Biometrics said its new panel-mount version of its Verifi P4000 reader is hardwired for anti-theft protection and enables positive user authentication with single finger touch.

"It cannot be fooled by fingerprint copies, latent images, gummy fingers, or finger castings, and has built-in security measures that make it virtually impossible to hack," the company claimed.

It is enclosed in commercial-grade aluminum housing with a waterproof design. The unit is designed to withstand high volume use, heavy cleaning, and exposure to elements.

"Fingerprint scanners' unique ability to provide the strongest security in such a user friendly and convenient manner is driving biometric adoption in a range of new markets," said Zavi Cohen, the company's chief executive officer.

The Verifi P4000 Panel Mount is available immediately as a stand-alone fingerprint reader.
