A new range of ready-to-serve plastic packaging comes with a
tamper-evident closure aimed at foods for the growing convenience
market.

Denmark-based Plus Pack designed its SquarePac containers to be placed directly on the dinner table saving the time of transferring the contents to a serving bowl.

The company is attempting to meet the demand from consumers who are generally spending less time on meal preparation and are on the lookout for products they can prepare at home quickly and easily.

At the same time, consumers are placing ever greater demands on the quality and safety of food, as well as on the packaging.

The SquarePac line of packaging comes with a "tamper-evident" closure. The thermoformed plastic containers all have a closely-fitting lid, which can only be removed once the tamper-evident seal has been broken.

Plus Pack is targeting the delicatessen and take-away markets. The range incorporates five sizes of container, from 250ml to 1000 ml in two designs.

All containers are made of APET (amorphous polyester terephthalate).
