The group said its A3/Flex line was now available across the globe. It claimed the machine could produce up to 22 different packages, more than any other carton ambient packaging line available today.
The line's use of Tetra Pak's 'QuickChange' technology allows customers to change package sizes with the same bottom base in just 15 minutes, enabling capacity optimisation and flexibility in order to meet changing market needs.
Food producers and processors have come under increasing pressure over the last few years as retailers have increased their demands on them for greater product variation and innovation.
Demands for different packaging sizes also look set to increase in the Europe Union now that both the European Commission and Parliament have backed plans to deregulate packaging sizes for all consumer goods - only excluding a few staples such as milk and coffee.
"No other carton packaging line on the market today can beat the Tetra Pak A3/Flex packaging line when it comes to major changes in package size and shape," said Ivano Selmi, vice president of Tetra Pak Carton Ambient.
The line has a capacity of 5,000 to 8,000 packages per hour, depending on volume, and can produce TBA packages in volumes from 200ml to 2,000ml and TPA packages from 200ml to 1,000ml.
It can also handle both high acid and low acid products, as well as satisfy a great variety of liquid food packaging needs, the firm said.
Selmi said the A3 line offered cost-savings too "with the introduction of monitoring systems for the most critical functions of the filling machine such as sealing".
