Each year Atlantis Pak has new products. Its partners already know about this tradition and they come to the forum to learn about the novelties. This time, the company presented nine new creations.
AMITEX is a new seven-layer shell for sausages. It has a mat surface and it is decorated with a UV (ultraviolet) stamp. The shell has an increased stuffing capacity and provides thermal processing and storage for cooked products.
AMICEL is a shell, made for manufacturing frankfurters and small sausage, made according to the traditional technology. It has an increased penetrability to aid in smoking foods. The cellulose shell walls and optimal isolating characteristics provide fewer losses while thermal processing and storage.
Besides brand new types of shells, six shells were modified: AMISMOKE, AMYTAN-PRO (AMISMOKE shell is meant for manufacturing semi-smoked and boiled-smoked sausages, AMYTAN-PRO-for all the types of boiled sausages and ham in shells for different technologies, which include smoked) and thermo-contractable packs AMIVAC and UF-Decor . Modifications of UF-Decor shells have already had their debut at IFFA-2004 (Frankfurt-am-Main) and IndProdmash-2004 exhibitions (Kiev). They are known to many company's partners in the country and abroad.
Partners were also told that the term for fulfilling the contracts has been shortened, due to an expansion of Atlantis' manufacturing capacities.
Atlantis-Pak said it was number one in the world for manufacturing plastic shells in 2004. The firm exports 30 per cent of its production, to Western and Eastern Europe, Latin America, Turkey, China and USA. And for each country, Atlantis-Pak designs a totally new shell to fit market needs.
The market of polyamide (plastic, artificial) shells for sausages and frankfurters is very specific, so there is little research on it apart from Atlantis' own claims. However, participants in the market generally agree that Atlantis-Pak is Undoubtedly, they are the biggest manufactures on the market in Russia.
Atlantis-Pak was created in 1993 in Rostov. In the beginning the company manufactured polyamide shells for sausage. From 1997, it started manufacturing shells for frankfurters and small sausage. Nowadays, the company also manufactures shells for cheese and vacuum packs as part of a portfolio that includes 30 types of shell and packaging materials.
In 2003 Atlantis Pak manufactured more than 640,000km-worth of products (on this market, the volume of manufactured products is measured in km). The company's customers are meat-packing plants from Russia and 50 other countries around the world. Atlantis Pak is a private firm with 2,500 employees.
