New conveyer belt targeted at small food products

Intralox specialises in making modular plastic conveyor belts. The company claims its approach to conveyer belts help decrease production costsand minimize plant downtime.
The company will continue to showcase its older Spiralox 2600 model, which it calls the first modular plastic belt able to equip wide spiral conveyors. The 2600 series features beam stiffness, highcurve belt strength, large open areas and is available with 1.6, 2.2 or 3.2 minimum turning radius, Intralox said in a press release.
The belts operate at a low tension and are made of light plastics. Both series of belts are designed for cooling, freezing, proofing and other spiral conveying applications in food processingplants.
"Low tension operation reduces wear and extends belt life," the company said. "Waste is cut in half by reducing product sticking and eliminating metal wear debris, called blackspecks. Retrofitting a spiral conveyor with Spiralox belts requires no welding, lubrication, special tools, or belt flipping. Overall, time and money spent on maintenance and repair is reduced by 75per cent."
In the current quarter of this year Intralox said it will also release the SeamFree 800 open hinge flat top, which allows food processors to achieve high levels of sanitation by eliminating seamsthat trap debris. The new SeamFree 800 is assembled with no bricklayed seams on belts 36" (914mm) wide and narrower.
The company said it will showcase its products for spiral conveyors at the Food Processing Machinery exhibition, being held this year in Las Vegas 26-28 September.
