New system measures waste water flow
processing operations be more efficient in measuring the amount of
waste water they discharge from their activities.
Valley Air Solutions announced yesterday the release of its VDP Wastewater Magnetic Flow Meter System as a means for measuring wastewater flow anddischarge. The meter provides instantaneous flow calculations and the measures bi-directional flow for such discharges as dairy manure slurries and cheese plant wastewater.
The meter can be equipped with either a single or dual sensor depending on the operation. Its performance and reliability is unaffected by solids or trash in the water. It is also a valuable tool forfarm nutrient management, Valley Air Solutions said in a statement.
"The VDP Wastewater Flow Meter System is ideal for customers seeking low-cost permanent measurement where non-blocking, non-cleaning, low maintenance and high accuracy is important, even after prolonged exposure to manure, calcium carbonate, algae or similar buildups," the company said.
The VDP system uses AC pulsed technology to achieve up to 50 times higher signal-to-noise ratio than other pulsed DC magmeter technologies, and up to three times higher than conventional ACmagmeters, the company claims.
VDP Wastewater Magnetic Flow Meter Systems are data-logging ready, eliminating the need to purchase and install an additional device.
Valley Air Solutions says it will soon provide customers with a free data logging software upgrade, giving them the ability to time and date stamp historical flow measurements and simplify data collection.
The VDP system is orderable in a variety of common diameters, ranging from two inches to 80-inches for use with steel or PVC pipework. Pricing starts at about $4000.
The VDP system can be a direct replacement for Teledyne ISCO flow meters. Valley Air Solutions is based in Lodi, California. The company provides waste-to-energy systems, natural digester technology, consulting and other environmentalsystems for dairy, agricultural and food processing.
