US-based resealable packaging technology firm Zip-Pak is to showcase a number of zipper innovations at Pack Expo in Las Vegas, 13-15 October, 2003. Among its new products will be the Quick-Zip Slider, the Transverse Direction Zip-Pak Slider, and polypropylene-compatible zippers.
The Quick-Zip Slider, claimed to be the first economical, high-performance slider for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) bags, is suitable for frozen food, vegetables, produce, poultry, snacks, potting soil, and fertilizer. The Transverse Direction Zip-Pak Slider can now be applied across the short, 'top' side of vertical form/fill/seal pouches. And Zip-Pak has also developed a family of polypropylene-compatible zippers, which provide the brand-building and consumer-friendly benefits of resealability to polypropylene packaging.
Zip-Pak representatives will also be showcasing the E-Z Open Strip, a simple 'tear-off' strip added to the top of a bag that gives the consumer easy access to products with one quick motion. Eliminating the need for scissors, Zip-Pak says the E-Z Open Strip would be an 'excellent feature for products that target the food-service industry and industrial applications', among others.
With more than 200 patented zipper profiles, Zip-Pak provides consumers with One Step Storage, an easy, convenient way to reseal products in original packaging throughout extended use, thus eliminating the need to store products in another container to preserve freshness. Through the AMI Equipment Division, Zip-Pak also develops packaging machinery attachments that apply zipper in-line with form/fill/seal equipment and pre-made pouch equipment.
