Reiser, a leading UK-based packaging and processing supplier, will be highlighting its latest technologies at the forthcoming PPMA show, to be held in Birmingham, UK, 23-25 September.

Taking stand prominence will be the Ross Inpack Model S60 pre-formed tray sealing machine, which is one from a family of machines and said to be suitable for almost any application. The S60 is capable of operating at speeds of up to 75 packs per minute depending on the tray size and packaging requirement.

Key highlights include quick change tooling, allowing the machine to swiftly change between tray sizes and designs, thereby reducing downtime. Improved film utilisation ensures that film usage is kept to the minimum. Operator friendly, the integral touch screen console allows users to quickly switch between different pre-programmed pack options.

Manufactured in stainless steel, the modular designed S60 is built with hygiene in mind and can be quickly cleaned down after use. Other features include built-in diagnostics, integral converger and an optional 'over the back loader' to minimise operator involvement and also control line speeds.

The S60 also has the option of using printed lidding films, should this be required.

Reiser (UK)'s managing director, Ken Mossford commented: "People who are already using the machine are convinced that it is the most flexible machine to date."

Also to be exhibited will be the Supervac GK202 automatic vaccum packaging machine, which will be making its PPMA premier. The GK202, has high pressure bi-active sealing designed to ensure reliable sealing. The machine offers high capacity performance for a wide range of durable and non-durable items. Typical applications include meat, poultry, cheese, vegetables and numerous non-food uses.

Standard features comprise a patented expansion cushion, which is said to increase output and efficiency and touch screen controls. Optional features including trim removal systems, shrink bag equipment, water-cooled seal bars and cut-off perforation knives.

The latest Vemag 500 is also to be shown which the company says is designed for use in almost any food application including depositing, filling, dividing, sheeting, forming extruding and portioning. It is a multi purpose machine designed to be space-saving, allowing one Vemag to take the place of several other items of equipment.

Manufactured in Germany, the machine will be exhibited with a 'Water Wheel' attachment, which is designed for the accurate multi-lane depositing of ingredients onto baking trays, oven bands and make-up lines. The Vemag 500 is currently being used by many sausage and pie makers throughout the UK.

Milton-Keynes based Reiser will also be exhibiting an entry level Holac Dicer, the HO21 - a small semi-automatic unit suitable for use with all kinds of fresh or cooked meat, poultry, fruit and vegetables, cheese and fish. This compact machine is particularly suited to butchers and small food processors.

Reiser has been selling and servicing high-quality food processing and packaging equipment for over forty years. The company supplies plants world wide performing a number of applications in a variety of industries including meat, seafood, produce, food, bakery and dairy.
