Franz Haas readies for IBA 2003

Austrian company Franz Haas Waffelmaschinen, a worldwide manufacturer of wafer and biscuit production plants, is to exhibit a selection of its latest technologies and equipment at the forthcoming IBA 2003.

Austrian company Franz Haas Waffelmaschinen, a worldwide manufacturer of wafer and biscuit production plants, is to exhibit a selection of its latest technologies and equipment at the forthcoming IBA 2003.

The exhibition is to be held 3-9 October in Dusseldorf, Germany, during which time Franz Haas will be occupying a prominent position on stand 17C42/D55. The stand will include a number of the company's latest developments for both wafer and biscuit plants and staff will be on hand to explain about the various applications.

With respect to wafer plant equipment, the stand will include a number of individual pieces of equipment being previewed. Amongst these will include the automatic wafer baking oven S WAKN 48 G which has been specifically developed for the production of flat and hollow wafer sheets of 350 x 500mm and has the capacity to produce 27 such sheet per minute.

The company's cream spreading and stacking machine, FSTM 2-S, will also be on display. Two separate cream spreading heads for this system are said to be ideal for caramel creams. The company will also be previewing an environmentally-friendly wafer stick baking over, the EWB-R 1,8/2 IND which features an energy-efficient induction heating system.

Franz Haas will also be featuring a selection of equipment aimed at biscuit production, including two complete systems - one for the production of filled queen biscuits and one for the extruded sticks and moulded pretzels. The queen biscuit production line includes a multi-purpose Variomat machine, a coating device, a decorating device - Decoqueen, a guillotine, vibration sprinkler for toppings and a tension station for monitoring and setting the tension of the product transport band.

The company will also feature a production line for extruded sticks and moulded pretzels which will include its GF-STX biscuit moulding machine, a lyeing machine to apply caustic soda onto sticks or pretzels, a rotary sprinkler for salt and a cutting device.

Furthermore, the company will display mixing and aerating machines from its Dutch subsidiary Haas-Mondomix. These machines are used in the baking, confectionery and dairy industries for the production of light and fluffy products.
