Batchelor's Supernoodles have been given a new twist. Alcan Packaging Cumbria has produced a new look for the product with specially developed packaging.
The updated pack comes in 11 flavour variations over two sizes, which the company believes will improve the shelf impact of the brand in stores across the UK and Ireland.
In the development process, Alcan Packaging Cumbria agreed with Campbell's to opt for a laminate rather than a single web specification to improve the pack's aesthetic impact and scuff resistance properties. The new Supernoodles specification is a process flexo sandwich printed OPP laminate with reverse patterned coldseal.
The design is printed between the two layers to give not only a glossier look and feel, but also greater protection from scuffing. This replaces a previous Supernoodles specification which was a gravure printed single web.
"The metallised substrate base gives a higher quality appearance and a more modern feel," said sales manager Steven Wilkinson. "The colours also appear brighter and more striking.
"We have worked closely with the customer to create a pack that will differentiate Campbell's product on the shelf. "
The exceptionally high quality of Alcan Packaging's flexo printing offers a viable alternative to gravure as well as the inherent commercial benefits presented by the flexo option.
