Packaging firm SWF has launched the DL 100, a direct loader that the company believes is the perfect automation solution for flat case or tray packing of flexible bags. The machine can pack up to 240 bags per minute.

The secret to the DL 100's success, says SWF, is its patented impeller system. This allows the machine to pack incredibly efficiently. The product catcher/flap opener is an integral part in placing bags of product gently, yet swiftly into the desired case or tray.

In addition, the servo driven impellers also produce continuous motion, therefore eliminating return time and enhancing packing speed.

The DL 100 can accommodate pack patterns from one to two bags wide, one to ten layers deep and up to four bags long. The compact machine also features a versatile loading sequence which allows filled cases to be discharged in any one of three directions and product changeovers in less than seven minutes.

Standard features include stainless steel construction, touch screen control, electro-mechanical operation, polycarbonate interlocked guard package, automatic case positioner (for pre-erected cases or trays), and case load station settler (adjustable vibration for case settling).

Available options include bag shingling, 90-degree bag turn conveyor, broken bag detector, product settling conveyor, built-in case erector (with or without bottom seal), line integration, and additional options upon request.

SWF companies have been providing global packaging automation solutions for over half a century. Based in California, the company offers an extensive array of products including tray, bliss and RSC formers / sealers, case and tray packers, vertical/horizontal cartoners and flexible bag packers.
