Nashua launches recipe labels

Nashua Corporation has introduced recipe labels featuring new printing technology for retailers and case-ready meat and poultry processors.

Nashua Corporation has introduced new recipe labels for retailers and case-ready meat and poultry processors. The product, which the company claims offers a more customer-friendly label system, is compatible with the standard weigh-scale label on meat and poultry packages.

The labels feature new printing technology. Recipes are printed on the back of the scale label and can be peeled off at home. Nashua claims that because of this, processors and retailers can deliver a low-cost solution for a variety of recipes without using numerous labels that may take up space on the package.

Up to five recipes can be printed per single roll of labels and these recipes can be changed with each new order.

Andy Greenberg, label product manager said: "Today's consumers need quick solutions when preparing meals. This long-awaited product solves previous obstacles associated with delivering recipes to the consumer.

"Central meat packagers can provide more value to their customers, the retailer, who save on label and labour costs. At the same time, retailers increase their customer loyalty through a more attractive presentation in the meat case. And best of all, the consumer benefits from an easily available source of information to enhance the dining experience."

For central meat packagers that place nutritional information on the package, Nashua has also introduced Nutri-Recipe, which is a label that contains both the nutritional information and recipes. For ground beef packages, for example, the leanness of the meat is included along with other information.

Nashua Corporation manufactures and markets a wide variety of speciality imaging products and services to industrial and commercial customers. The company's products include thermal coated papers, pressure-sensitive labels and wide format papers.
