Amcor White Cap today opened a new product facility in Dudullu, Turkey, replacing the old factory in Instanbul city centre.

Volker Linde, Amcor White Cap's Vice President Manufacturing & Technology said at the inaugeration: "Better opportunities for expansion and better delivery and dispatch facilities all spoke in favour of transferring production to the new site here in the Dudullu industrial estate".

The company says that the old factory became too small for the new automatic packaging system and additional production lines. Now, up-to-date printing lines and ovens ensure optimal production quality, the company claims.

The new packaging system aims to fulfil international standards with regard to reliability and efficient order fulfilment. The production capacity per annum will have been doubled to meet the challenges of the future.

Linde explained: "We are well prepared to satisfy the needs of our customers in Turkey as well as the rest of Europe and Asia with even more efficiency and flexibility. We have built a modern, international standard factory at this location, of a quality comparable to that found in other countries, befitting the market leader."

The new production site also fulfils the requirements of the West European foodstuff producers that get their pickled vegetables packed in Turkey, which is convenient for marketing these both in Europe as well as world-wide. Turkey has is an important market with a high potential for growth. For Amcor White Cap the plant in Istanbul is an ideal place to supply neighbouring countries in this region. The company is also an important employer and taxpayer in Istanbul.

Amcor White Cap is a division of the Amcor Group, the Australian-based global packaging company.
