Next year's Pack Expo, to be held in Las Vegas, 13-15 October, has been earmarked as an international showcase for award winning packaging innovation.

The event will feature an array of award-winning packages from an array of leading packaging organisations. To date, six different associations have agreed to showcase their packaging award winners within the Pack Expo Las Vegas Containers & Materials Pavilion. The list includes: DuPont Awards for Innovation in Packaging; Flexible Packaging Association; The Glass Packaging Institute and the Paperboard Packaging Council.

"Pack Expo Las Vegas will feature real world packaging applications that brand managers can leverage to increase sales and brand exposure on the retail shelf," said Mark Garvey, PMMI show committee chairman, and president of Garvey Corporation. "The award winning showcases will be prominently featured in a Showcase of Packaging Innovations as part of the 70,000 net square foot Containers & Materials Pavilion being established at the show. We expect heavy traffic to this area as senior level marketing executives, brand managers, packaging engineers and research and development personnel come to look for new and innovative ways to market and package their products."

"More than 33 per cent of the packaging professionals who attend Pack Expo Las Vegas are looking for new materials and containers," said Garvey. "With the addition of the Containers & Materials Pavilion and the Showcase of Packaging Innovations we expect even more executive level packaging purchasers to attend this year's show, and we're confident they will find the new materials and fresh container applications that can make a difference in their business."

Pack Expo Las Vegas will feature more than 700 exhibitors spread over 400,000 net square feet featuring the full range of packaging machinery, components and of course materials and containers.
