Representatives of Georgia-Pacific, Ernst & Young, Wal-Mart Stores, General Mills and Osram-Sylvania will be featured during three "Eye Opener" plenary sessions of the conference at the forthcoming Pack Expo, to be held in Chicago from 4 - 6 November 2002.
The three-day packaging conference will be held in Chicago's McCormick Place in conjunction with Pack Expo International, which runs for five days from 3 - 7 November.
"The daily Eye Opener Plenary Sessions are open to all Pack Expo International attendees. Each session will offer unique and informed insights into the evolving and expanding roles of packaging in the global marketplace," said Ben Miyares, director of the conference and vice president of industry relations at the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Inistitute. The Eye Opener Plenary Sessions are included at no additional charge to Pack Expo registrants.
Show attendees who are not registered for the conference can still attend the Eye Opener Plenary Sessions by registering online at www.packexpo.com and paying a $25 (€25.30) per session registration fee.
On Monday 4 November, Charles F. Williams, vice-president of Information Resources and chief information officer of Georgia-Pacific will offer the opening keynote address during the Eye Opener Plenary session. His presentation is entitled:Package Identification, Today and Tomorrow:Advancing toward a Global Coding Standard.
Williams serves on the board of directors of the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards (VICS) organisation and the Global Commerce Initiative (GCI).
Keynoting the Tuesday, 5 November Eye Opener Plenary Session of the conference will be Ken Brooks, senior vice president and North American Packaging Specialist and Tim Rothwell, director and European Packaging Specialist of Ernst & Young Corporate Finance. Their presentation is entitled: The Evolving Global Packaging Market: Directions, Challenges and Drivers of Change. Their presentation is based on their recently completed study: The Global Packaging Market: The Top 100 Players.
The Wednesday, 6 November Eye Opener Plenary Session features an executive panel discussion on the topic:Understanding and Meeting the Packaging Requirements Of Mass Merchandisers and Club Stores. Panelists for this session include a number of key players involved in the consumer packaging industry.
