Bizerba, the UK-based packaging equipment manufacturer, has launched a new checkweigher designed to provide weight measurement and process control for food and beverage packaging applications.
The CWM system has quick belt-release technology and a central control unit with a touch screen control panel and easy-to-read display.
Featuring a completely new maintenance-free drive system and belt-unit layout, the company claims that the system represents a significant development in checkweigher technology. The CWM's closed motors and open support structure ensures belts and belt units are accessible and convenient for wash down.
Suitable for integration with a number of applications within the food and beverage industry, the new CWM incorporates 32-bit processor technology that can be interfaced through standard Ethernet and Profibus networks. I/0 functionality and optional RS232 point-to-point connections are also available. It also combines online servicing and e-learning capabilities which facilitate troubleshooting, tutorials and process monitoring from anywhere in the world.
The machinery can operate in temperatures ranging from +100C to +400C and has a maximum load of either 6Kg (CWM 6000) or 10Kg (CWM 10000). Featuring a stainless steel construction, the unit also meets the IP54 protection class.
