Kliklok-Woodman, a world leader in the manufacture of cartoners, vertical form-fill-seal systems and end-of-line packaging equipment, will be introducing an array of new machines at PMMA Pack Expo in Chicago this year.
The new stainless steel SFR Servo (Small Footprint Rotary) end-load cartoner is one of the most compact systems on the market, yet it provides one of the widest carton size ranges.
It offers a series of features including integrated 'smart belt' product indexing, automatic loading with an articulated barrel-cam inserter, highly efficient rotary carton feeder and an Allen-Bradley control interface for rapid size changeover and easy operation. This labour saving servo-driven machine takes up less floor space than many rival hand-pack lines, and boasts higher speeds (120CPM) and specifications than many larger systems.
The SFR will be coupled with Kliklok-Woodman's Cyclone bagmaker and volumetric auger filling to demonstrate complete Bag-in-Box automation in a line less than 25 foot in length.
The new CertiWrap is designed to package low profile meal trays, tubs or pots; either individually, in multi-packs or layered - in economical wrap-around paperboard sleeves. It offers the flexibility to handle various carton profiles including full, economy and watch strap styles, to adapt to changing packaging requirements of various food sectors.
CertiWrap incorporates a quiet, low maintenance drive system, servo-driven product infeed and complete product and package control throughout the system by way of independent product/package conveying and registration lugs. A-B PLC controls, with a colour touch screen MMI, provide intuitive operation and simplified interface with upstream systems, at speeds to 150 CPM.
Kliklok-Woodman's other new piece of machinery is the Genesis RAC right-angle, lugless, top-load carton closer which will also be introduced and demonstrated in operation with the ECT-625 hot-melt carton forming machine. The Genesis RAC is well suited to requirements for limited floor space and ideal for many applications which dictate the handling of recloseable hood-cover carton styles, commonly used for baked goods and other products.
Colour touch screen controls, a large carton size range, and stainless steel construction are among many benefits of this system. The ECT-625 is a rotary turret style top-load erector for hinge-cover cartons or trays. The rotary mandrel design employs vacuum carton hold-down, in conjunction with a reciprocating forming cavity, to maintain constant package control and registration at speeds to 75 CPM (single cavity) or 140 CPM (double cavity).
