Aetna UK and Weitek have launched a double head linear weighing machine for dry and solid foods.

The system is modular in construction and can offer weighing speeds of up to 100 weighments per minute. Each module utilises a double hopper - the upper hopper to weigh 90 per cent of the weighment, and the lower hopper to accurately top up the weighment.

The system is more than double the speed of a single hopper linear weigher and can operate at speeds in excess of 30 weighments per minute. Up to 3 modules can be integrated into a single weighing system.

The equipment can be used to measure food such as: dry and fresh pasta, vegetables and salads, snacks, chocolate and candy, IQF products, biscuits, ground and granular coffee, cocoa, tea, dry and fresh fruit as well as seeds and grains.

Features include optional items such as: touch Screen MX1 controls with full diagnostics, bossed treatment for contact surfaces and quick Release feeders and hoppers.

Designed to interface with multiple weighers and collate the statistical data to suit the application, the system can monitor and track the performance of weighing systems.

Single page standard deviation statistical and graphical data can be printed on a flexible basis, which is beneficial for batch control and lifetime records.
