Key Technology has introduced the CentriFlow Mass Flow Meter, which measures the weight of flowable bulk solid food products, such as snack foods, vegetables and cereal and reports flow rate or totalised data to a plant control system.
The CentriFlow offers numerous advantages over traditional weigh belts and impact meters, including increased accuracy, no drift, less maintenance, smaller footprint, and easy installation. The product is currently available in North America.
As part of Key Technology's product line, CentriFlow complements Iso-Flo Vibratory Distribution Systems, which transport product while often providing other functions including grading, alignment, and feeding. CentriFlow's combination of transport and weighing functions allows processing to continue without disruption as part of a process system as opposed to a stand-alone unit.
CentriFlow is accurate to within 0.25 per cent and is unaffected by material density changes or flow pulsation. The meter is virtually maintenance free, has no moving parts, and does not require repeated calibration.
Installation and set up are easy with no recalibration required for different products. The metre is reliable for bulk filling systems, seasoning applications, liquid coating feedback, or inventory measurement applications.
CentriFlow handles products with bulk densities from 1-100 lbs/ft, and flow rates ranging between 0.7-60 ft/minute. Available in five widths, the metre provides a choice of outputs including flow, totalised, analog, and digital.
