Beleaguered US eco packaging company, EarthShell, has announced that Vincent Truant, will assume the role of president and chief operating officer, effective immediately.

Beleaguered US eco packaging company, EarthShell, has announced that Vincent Truant, will assume the role of president and chief operating officer, effective immediately.

Prior to this appointment, Truant served as senior vice president and chief marketing officer and has been an executive officer of the company since April, 1998. Truant assumes leadership at an important juncture in EarthShell's development, as the company undertakes the transfer of the technology to its manufacturing partners and restructures its manufacturing operations.

"It has been extremely rewarding for me to see the initial components of our business model achieved over the last few years," said Simon Hodson, chief executive officer of EarthShell Corporation.

" Vincent Truant has been instrumental in helping to build the foundation of our business and is our preferred choice to lead the company toward the realisation of its goals. His leadership, managerial abilities and experience will be key to our future success."

Truant brings more than 30 years of experience and executive ability in all facets of business management to his new position, including a 15-year tenure with Sweetheart Cup Company.

"In my new role, I will focus on transitioning the technology to our manufacturing partners and developing additional key alliances to realise the full potential of EarthShell Packaging," said Truant.

EarthShell Corporation is a development stage company engaged in licensing and commercialising its proprietary composite material technology for the manufacture of disposable food service packaging, including cups, plates, bowls, hinged-lid containers and sandwich wraps.
