Nestle Cote d'Ivoire hopes to double the capacity of its soluble coffee factory in the West African nation to produce 24,000 tonnes eventually, financial director Virginie Medafe said.
Medafe and Nestle-CI's Managing Director Olivier Desponds presented the project to Ivory Coast President Laurent Gbagbo earlier this week.
She said the project had not yet been approved at group level and that other sites around the world had also presented similar projects.
The factory is currently making full use of its capacity of 12,000 tonnes, Medafe said.
Over 90 per cent of Nestle-CI's production is destined for export and Medafe said Greece was its top client.
