French group Guillin, which specialises in packaging for the food industry and refrigerated food delivery, has acquired Italian distribution company Mactrade through its subsidiary Guillin Emballages, according to a report in Les Echos.
Guillin, which generated a turnover of €150 million in 2001, with 1,100 staff, is already present in Italy with its subsidiary Nespak, which manufactures packaging for fruit and vegetables. The company has a number of production units which manufacture extruded plastic sheets, thermoforming and process development packaging products.
Mactrade specialises in the distribution of packaging for supermarket cold shelves. It generated a turnover of €8.6 million in 2001, with a workforce of ten.
