UK company Henkel Loctite Adhesives has developed a range of NSF Registered maintenance products that are specially formulated for use in the food processing industry. The range includes threadlockers, retainers, instant adhesives, sealants, lubricants and surface treatments.
Products are registered under Category P1, H1 or H2 for Non food Compounds and Std 61 for Potable Water Approval. This provides users with the security of third party assessment for the safety and compatibility of the products.
The NSF scheme covers materials used in and around food processing areas, which are not intended for direct food contact, or expected to become a component of a food product.
In a statement, the company claimed that the range provides maintenance engineers with all the high technology products required for the maintenance and repair of systems and machinery. This can be as an emergency repair or as part of a scheduled preventative maintenance programme.
The comprehensive range includes low, medium and high strength threadlockers for securing threaded assemblies, pipe sealants and sealing tape for threaded fittings as well as high strength retaining products for cylindrical assemblies such as shafts, gears and pulleys. There are instant adhesives for general use and structural adhesives for repairing metal, wood, ceramics and plastic parts.
