US food and beverage sourcing company ecFood has announced a comprehensive procurement service alliance with US organisation Retailer Owned Food Distributors & Associates (ROFDA).
Over the past year ecFood's procurement strategies and services have been assisting ROFDA to create economies of scale and realize savings of between 8 and 21 per cent.
Once fully implemented the ecFood's sourcing solutions will automate ROFDA's sourcing process to make it more efficient with new online technology tools. Together with ecFood, participating ROFDA members will identify new suppliers, score them, simplify transactions, reduce the complexity of transactions, reduce errors, save time and reduce direct material costs.
ROFDA has also worked with ecFood to develop a personalised open auction program, using each member's personal specifications or requirements in their go-to-market programs. In recent sourcing events, ecFood realised savings on trailers and tractors (8 to 18 per cent and forklifts/pallet jacks (10 to 21 per cent).
In addition, ecFood has developed sourcing strategies for specific ROFDA product categories such as: tractors, trailers, fork lifts, pallet jacks, shipping labels, meat trays, meat film and produce film. In each case, ecFood's commission structure was based on realised savings by ROFDA.
The ROFDA alliance reinforces ecFood's strategy of partnering with procurement associations in the food industry
