French patisserie specialist Brioche Pasquier has commenced work on its first UK bakery site; set to strengthen the company’s presence in the market, according its CEO.

Brioche Pasquier held a ground breaking ceremony for its Milton Keynes sight earlier this month, marking the beginning of construction of the 160,000 square foot facility. The bakery, set to be operational by December 2015, will have an additional 70,000 square foot added over the next five years.

Company CEO Pascal Pasquier said the new bakery enabled Brioche Pasquier to continue its development in the UK market.

“Our objective is to adapt to the British market whilst holding onto our French traditions of producing using our unique baking methods. The new factory will also enable us to become closer to our customers and distributors within the UK,” he said.

The company has been present in the UK for more than 10 years via retailers and distributors and has a UK-based commercial team. Brioche Pasquier has a total of 17 production plants across the globe; 14 in France, two in Spain and one in California.
